Mona Hamdy is the Chief Strategy Officer for Sino Global Capital, a global venture capital firm specializing in digital assets and blockchain infrastructure development in emerging markets. A Harvard teaching fellow in Applied Ethics, Dr. Hamdy was the Co-Founder of the Al Baydha Project, a technology-forward development company that seeks to create radical market extension and regenerative economies through eradication of poverty and reversal of climate change. Prior to founding Al Baydha, Mona was the executive director of the Mosaic Foundation, an American cultural nonprofit comprised of the spouses of the Arab ambassadors posted in Washington DC. Mosaic’s two-fold mission was to improve the lives of women and children around the world and increase cultural understanding between the peoples of the Arab world and the United States. Mona’s previous board memberships include service as the Middle East ambassador for the Global Blockchain Business Council, the World Bank Senior Vice President’s Council on the Eradication of Extreme Poverty, the Center for Democracy and Technology focused privacy and digital identity, the Harvard 3D- Women in Defense, Development and Diplomacy, and the Bretton Woods Committee.
