Mikael (Mika) Hajjar

Mika is business operator turned investor. He’s a fourth-generation Lebanese immigrant entrepreneur in West Africa. He started angel investing in Africa technology founders in 2014 and founded P1 Ventures five years ago. P1 Ventures manages over $50Mn today and built an investment thesis that AI will transform most sectors in African economies in the same way that mobile or FinTech did respectively the telecommunication and banking infrastructures. P1 Ventures partnered with Reliance in health in Nigeria and Egypt, Nuitee in travel in Morocco and Lengo in retail in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. Mika was born in Dakar, Senegal and raised in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Mika holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University.
