Dr. Richard Mkandawire is the Africa Director for the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) at Michigan State University, and Chairperson, Malawi National Planning Commission. Before joining AAP, he worked as Vice President of the African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership where he led a team of experts in driving innovative interventions for efficient and effective delivery of fertilizers among smallholder farmers in Africa. Previously, Mkandawire served as Senior Advisor to the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), where he was the principal architect of NEPAD’s Africa Agriculture Development Program.
